What if 'natural selection' has no limit?

In this entry, we explore the possibilities of biological beings that potentially have an intriguing and plausible aesthetics, by experimenting with daily usage of our communication such as slangs and wordplay with a goal to achieve results in light and humorous tone. 

This project requires no boundaries, simply allowing room to experiment, think outside the box, and explore endless creativity. Showcasing the plausible aesthetics of an unbounded world along with fun and captivating backstories.

This showcase of 'freaks' is not only a great exercise for creative workshop, but also the perfect way of practicing 'The Art of Letting Go'. Free of restrictions without taking ourselves too seriously.

Crozilla • クロジラ 
The Reptilian Raptor

Features: 

• Crow + Godzilla
• Massive and wingless

Personality:

• Confident
• Bold

This armored raptor has evolved with crocodile-like scales. Its sheer size makes up for its inability to fly, the scene of an enormous bobbling head will emerge when being approached by it.

 

Fark • ファーク
The Unhinged Jaw

Features: 

• Frog + Basking Shark + Crystals
• Forever unshut mouth

Personality:

• Timid
• Insecure

Crystals on its back are not lucky charms, instead they project disco-ball effect with sunlight. This brightens up its own spirit, making up for its hideous appearance.

 

Gazellion • ガゼライオン 
The Acting Alpha

Features: 

• Gazelle + Lion + Goat
• Fearsome facade

Personality:

• Cunning
• Deceiving

Their massive head horns are used to display ‘alpha’ status and deceive predators. If this tactic fails, they flee like a breeze, like a dashing dust cloud attached with enormous horns.

 

Hornie • ツノヤマ 
The Hard Shell Softy

Features: 

• Armadillo + Rhyno + Goat + Styracosaurus
• Fully armored

Personality:

• Shy
• 'Physically Active'

One of the most armored creatures in the hybrid jungle, rumor has it that its enormous genitalia are hidden beneath its armor. Despite its slug-like speed, it will attempt to mate with anything in sight. It’s called Hornie for a reason.

 

Slothbat • ナマケコウモリ 
The Creepy Kicker

Features: 

• Sloth + Bat
• Mysteriously cloaked

Personality:

• Creepy
• Spontaneous

Some say it watches over the hybrid jungle like a superhero. When its threatened, it will extend its secretly hidden long and hairy legs behind those massive wings and kick at its target’s face constantly until they’re flattened.

 

Owsheep • フクロウヒツジ
Surprise!

Features: 

• Owl + Sheep
• Fluffy goofball

Personality:

• Curious
• Easily stunned

Curiosity is at the heart of this creature’s character, but it also makes it a real troublemaker. When under pressure, it releases feces and lets out a high-pitched voice, complete with a surprised expression to startle its opponents and create a chance to escape.

 

Tassie Beastie • タスマニアモン
Mate From Down Under 

Features: 

• Tasmania Devil + Kangaroo + Echidna + Platypus + Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger) 

Personality:

• Laid Back
• Playful

The agile omnivore hops around on incredibly muscular legs and hunts with its powerful, snapping jaws. 
However, it’s not great at ambushing because it cannot hop without shouting “mate,” leading to a pretty poor success rate.

 

Beetle • ハチカメ
The Chaos Catcher

Features: 

• Bumble Bee + Brazilian Snapping Turble

Personality:

• Nervous
• Sensitive

To maintain its body temperature, the beetle flaps its wings to cool down from sweating under its shell. When in danger, it tends to retreat into the shell.
However, due to the position of its wings, it often gets stuck, leaving its head exposed and causing it to panic.
